Shurleey x SERAX

Belgian-Peruvian artist Shirley Villavicencio Pizango, known as Shurleey, is part of a new generation of compelling voices in contemporary art. Her vibrant, expressive portraits have already reached international audiences, with exhibitions extending as far as New York.
In this collection, her painterly universe is translated into ceramic form. Following an initial series of vases, a set of ten distinctive plates now emerges, each presenting its own narrative scene. The illustrations—abundant with flowers, plants, and fruit—radiate the warmth and untamed richness of the tropics.
This visual language is deeply rooted in Shurleey’s childhood in Santiago de Borja, a small village in Peru, situated along a tributary of the Amazon River. With this hand-painted collection, her work becomes more tangible and intimately accessible to a wider audience.
