The Wunderwall Enlarged - Elise Willems

Elise Willems (°1993, Aalst, Belgium) lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium.

She studied Architecture at LUCA School of Arts and Fine Arts at Sint-Lucas Antwerp, and is a member of the artist collective ZIJspoor.

Her practice explores the interplay between digital and physical processes. Starting from digital images and 3D models, she translates these into paintings and ceramics, where scale, function, and meaning shift toward abstract, architectural, and imaginary forms.

By integrating ceramic elements into her paintings, Willems creates a dialogue between two- and three-dimensional work. The tension between digital precision and manual imperfection remains central, inviting reflection on an increasingly digital reality.
